The King and Queen arrive at Royal Ascot on Gold Cup Day

The King and Queen have arrived at Royal Ascot for the third day of the meeting and the highlight of the week – Gold Cup Day.

Arriving at the Berkshire racecourse in the carriage procession, Their Majesties waved to the crowd of thousands who had gathered to get a glimpse of the couple.

They were joined in the carriage procession by the Earl of Snowdon and Sir Mark Prescott who was recently employed to train horses for Their Majesties.

The Princess Royal was in the second carriage alongside her husband, Sir Tim Laurence.

They were joined by Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani and Lord Soames of Fletching.

Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto were in carriage three alongside Baroness Chisholm of Owlpen and Colin Chisholm.

Finally, The King’s racehorse trainer, John Gosden, arrived in the fourth carriage alongside his wife, Rachel Gosden-Hood.

His Majesty’s racing and bloodstock adviser, John Warren, was also in the final carriage alongside his wife, Carolyn.
