Day four of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s tour sees the first official engagements outside South Africa as Prince Harry begins his duties in Botswana. And there will be more focus on an issue close to Meghan’s heart as her agenda continues in Cape Town. Here’s what to expect from Day Four of the Sussexes in southern Africa.
Back to Nature
Harry’s first engagement in Botswana is at the Chobe Forest Tree Reserve where he will plant trees with local school children to highlight issues facing the environment. He’ll also get a chance to see a project run by the charity he set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, Sentebale.
This first part of the day will also see the Duke of Sussex dedicate a new area of the Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy which spreads across the border with three other countries, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
A Personal and Public Mission
Harry’s time in Botswana then comes to an end as he makes his way to Angola. In the evening of September 26th, he will visit the HALO demining camp in Dirico in the south east of the country. It’s the first of a series of events over two days focusing on the work to clear landmines and remember the contribution his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, made in the area.
Breakfast Meeting
The Duchess of Sussex, meanwhile, continues her diary in Cape Town. On the morning of September 26th, Meghan will attend a private working breakfast called ”Women in Public Service”. The event, at the High Commission in Cape Town will include women who have played a key role in the development of South Africa’s parliament and government as well as high profile representatives from the health and education sectors.
