A princess for Sweden – brand new royal baby arrives

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have welcomed their fourth child – and they have a brand new princess in the house!

Princess Sofia gave birth to a daughter on February 7th 2025.

The newest royal baby in Europe arrived at 1.10pm local time at the Danderyd hospital.

Mother and daughter are doing well.

No name has yet been shared for the baby who will have the title of Princess but won’t be an HRH.

Prince Carl Philip, only son of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, and Princess Sofia already have three boys – Alexander, 8, Gabriel, 7 and 3 year old Julien.

Prince Carl Philip said his sons were looking forward to welcoming their little sister.

Carl Philip and Sofia’s daughter is a ninth grandchild for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

The baby princess is eighth in line to the throne of Sweden.
