New portraits of the King and Queen of the Netherlands show them in the year that Willem-Alexander marked the tenth anniversary of his reign.
The king and queen are seen in brand new official photos, released as King Willem-Alexander’s ‘jubilee’ year comes to an end.
His Majesty is shown wearing white tie and the Knight Grand Cross of the Military Order of William and the Star of the Grand Cross of the Order of the Netherlands Lion.
Her Majesty wears a ballgown along with the Stuart tiara. Queen Maxima also wears the Grand Cross of the Order of the Netherlands Lion and the Star of the Grand Cross of the Order of the House of Orange.
The photos were taken in September 2023 at Noordeinde Palace by Anton Corbijn and released in November 2023.
Willem-Alexander became King of the Netherlands on April 30th 2013 on the abdication of his mother, now Princess Beatrix. Events have been held throughout the year to mark the first decade of his reign.
