Queen Margrethe of Denmark has unveiled her holiday plans abroad.
The Queen has had a hectic few months undergoing back surgery a few months ago and the subsequent recovery. At the moment, the Danish monarch is at Gråsten Palace, which she usually resides at in the summer. Recent photos have also shown that she has had royal guests, including her sister Princess Benedikte.
The Danish Royal Court has confirmed to the Danish press that Queen Margrethe will end her summer holiday with a two-week trip abroad before she embarks on a busy autumn.
During the last two weeks of August, the Danish Queen will stay at her summer residence in France. During this period, her eldest son, Crown Prince Frederik, will act as Danish regent on behalf of his mother.
Queen Margrethe will recharge for the autumn at the southern French wine castle Chateau de Cayx, which she bought with her late husband, Prince Henrik, back in 1974. Today, the home is active with, among other things, wine production.
