Crown Princess Victoria shared a selfie from the skies as the Swedish Armed Forces confirmed that she has completed an intensive air force training program this autumn.
A student of the Air Combat School these past few months, the future queen was taught all about the air domain of Sweden, the Swedish Air Force’s “air and space power, operations planning, leadership, air base concepts, air defense, future studies, innovation, and development,” according to the Swedish Armed Forces’ official website.
As part of preparations for her future, Crown Princess Victoria has spent a portion of 2024 and 2025 training with the military, including a stint at the Swedish National Defence College for practical and classroom learning.

Crown Princess Victoria visited with the Air Defense Regiment in Halmstad, the Swedish Air Force’s NATO mission in Poland, trained at the Swedish Air Force’s Flight Simulation Centre, visited the Norrbotten Air Flotilla in Luleå, and learned about space activities at the Swedish Space Corporation and the Esrange Space Centre.
In addition to practical learning, Crown Princess Victoria also flew with teams to see real-time aviation tactics, with the Air Combat School’s administrator, Johan Lörelius, saying that “The Crown Princess was very focused and impressed by the tactics, cooperation and capabilities of the fighter aircraft.”
Crown Princess Victoria completed her studies at the Swedish National Defence College earlier this year and attained the rank of Ensign. Her earlier practical studies saw her training with the Swedish Navy.
The Royal Court announced that next year, Crown Princess Victoria will train in depth with the Swedish Army next spring to round out her training with all branches of the military.
