Crown Prince Frederik to travel to Toronto with Danish-Greenlandic business delegation

Crown Prince Frederik is heading to Canada next month to represent Danish and Greenlandic business at a mining conference in Toronto.

Crown Prince Frederik will attend the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2019 Conference with Erik Jensen, Greenland’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Labour; Lars Christian Lilleholt, Denmark’s Minister for Energy, Utilities and Climate; as well as the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Greenland Business Association, and over 30 other Danish and Greenlandic companies.

The Crown Prince will lead a business promotional campaign “targeted at investment and business development in Greenland,” according to the Royal House website.

Over a two-day period, Crown Prince Frederik will officially open the Danish-Greenlandic space and meet with representatives of the Danish and Greenlandic companies attending the conference.

Crown Prince Frederik will also meet with key business people from over 1,000 companies who are also attending. The organisers estimate that over 26,000 participants will take part in the conference.

The next day, Crown Prince Frederik will give a speech at “Greenland Day.” The focus will be on “Greenland’s extraordinary geological and mineral potential.” The Crown Prince will also open an exhibition called “Open Architecture Exhibition” and will attend a discussion on “innovative solutions for urban development and architecture.”

Per PDAC’s official website, Greenland Day will feature presentations on “information on the licensing framework, technical regulations, infrastructure and project updates from exploration companies active in Greenland.

“The Greenland Business Association will illustrate the current conditions and the realities encountered by companies in the mining industry. The focus of these presentations will be on concrete exploration projects, investment opportunities and the industrial possibilities for extracting both base metals and rare earth metals.”

Crown Prince Frederik will also attend an official reception for Danish and Greenlandic companies at the end of the second day.

The Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Conference will take place from 3 to 6 March.

The Royal House will announce Crown Prince Frederik’s full Canadian schedule in the coming weeks.
