King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are currently carrying out a State Visit to Vietnam, the first visit by Belgian royals in over 50 years. Vietnamese President H.E. Luong Cuong hosted the royal couple at a State Dinner, complete with the required sparkle and elegance.
Queen Mathilde reached for one of her favourite designers for the State Dinner, Dries van Noten. She wore a full-length black gown with a bold floral pattern with scarlet, gold, and rich purple flowers. The gown has a dramatic silhouette with full-length sleeves and a high neck-line.
The Belgian queen also wore one of her favourite pairs of earrings which feature a pair of pear-shaped kunzite stone that are surrounded by brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds, suspended from a line of diamonds. Queen Mathilde acquired the earrings in 2018 from a Sotheby’s Fine Jewels Sale in London.

It followed a striking look earlier in the day when Queen Mathilde chose a golden yellow dress with large hat and stunning gold brooch.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde have been joined by a large delegation of government officials and industry representatives to further discussions in several different areas.
Their first official day in Vietnam was a busy one, with a wreath-laying ceremony, an official reception from the President, and a trip to a local cafe for coffee.
