Trooping the Colour will not go ahead as planned

The Queen’s Birthday Parade, Trooping the Colour, will not take place in its traditional form.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “In line with Government advice, it has been agreed that The Queen’s Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, will not go ahead in its traditional form.

A number of other options are being considered, in line with relevant guidance.”

Trooping the Colour usually takes place in June and is attended by all senior members of The Royal Family.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, this year’s event will not go ahead in the same fashion as previous years.

Trooping was due to take place on Saturday, 13 June, at Horse Guards Parade.

Over 2000 people usually take part in the event as well as 400 horses.
