Princess Eugenie has revealed the name of her daughter and the historic reasons for it.
The littlest member of the Royal Family has been named Adelaide Elizabeth Annina.
The princess shared the news on her Instagram and said that the picks honoured three very special people in her life.
Among them is Eugenie’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, who is the inspiration for Adelaide’s middle name.
Baby Adelaide was born in Lisbon on August 3, the third child of Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
The proud mum said that her daughter’s name reflected Portuguese and English history as a nod to Adelaide’s place of birth as well as her family tree.
As she revealed what she had called her first daughter, Eugenie also said that the newest addition to the Brooksbank family had two fans on hand at all times: her big brothers, August and Ernest.
Five year old Augie, as his parents call him, and three year old Ernie were seen cuddling their little sister in new images shared by their parents.
Adelaide Brooksbank is fifteenth in line to the throne and is the fifteenth great grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
