Princess Anne hits repeat as she does the same job for King Charles as she did for Queen Elizabeth II

Princess Anne, Princess Royayl smiles during a busy day of engagements.

The Princess Royal has repeated a job she did for Queen Elizabeth II for King Charles and she seemed rather pleased with the results.

Princess Anne unveiled a new photographic portrait of her brother at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. And the image will hang alongside one of Queen Elizabeth II which was also officially unveiled by Anne.

The new portrait of The King, taken by Millie Pilkington, shows His Majesty at Balmoral at the Sunken Garden.

It was taken last autumn but only unveiled by the Princess Royal as she visited the parliament in September 2025.

The King chose tartan for his outfit in the photo – he is seen in the King Charles III tartan and he holds a handcrafted stick presented to him at the Mey Highland Games.

The portrait now hangs next to an official photo of Elizabeth II that was unveiled by Anne in 2011.

The unveiling came as The King spent several days at Balmoral meeting privately with Prince William.

It’s understood that the Monarch and his heir have taken to holding a private autumn get together at Balmoral to talk about the main issues affecting the Royal Family and about their constitutional roles.

Family matters have been on The King’s mind in recent days. As September started, he held his first face to face meeting with younger son as Prince Harry visited the UK. That encounter, at Clarence House, lasted around 50 minutes and it’s the first time that The King has seen Harry in person since early 2024.

The King is also reported to be so concerned about the publication of an email from Sarah, Duchess of York to Jeffrey Epstein that he is cutting Fergie and her ex-husband, Andrew, out of the royal Christmas this year.

The email, sent in 2011, showed the duchess issuing an apology to Epstein following an interview in which she had disowned him. She told the disgraced financier, who had already been convicted, that he was a ”supreme friend”. The duchess said, after the publication, that she sent the message to stop any threats from Epstein.

Princess Anne has ignored the noise and carried on with a host of royal engagements in the past week.
