King Charles and Prince Harry meet for the first time in over 18 months

Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex talks to the BBC about his court case

The King has had tea with his younger son, Prince Harry, marking the first time the two have met face to face in over a year and a half.

King Charles and the Duke of Sussex spent time together at Clarence House in London.

The Duke, who has been in the UK for a series of events linked to charities and organisations he supports, was driven into The King’s private residence late on Wednesday afternoon.

It’s understood the two met for just over half an hour with Harry leaving for an evening event in the City of London.

Details of the conversation will, of course, be kept private. However, the meeting is significant as it’s the first time the two have been in the same room since early in 2024 when Prince Harry saw King Charles soon after His Majesty’s cancer diagnosis was confirmed.

Since then, there have been no face to face encounters between the two. Earlier this summer, some members of both their teams were spotted talking in London leading to reports of a potential rapprochement.

Prince Harry, who turns 41 in a few days time, has spoken of his desire to reconcile with his family. Those comments came after he lost a long running legal battle over his security.
