Donald Trump to lay wreath on tomb of Queen Elizabeth II

The President of the United States of America will make a private visit to the grave of Queen Elizabeth II.

Donald Trump will spend time at the tomb, inside St. George’s Chapel, Windsor, during his historic State Visit to the United Kingdom.

The US President and his wife, Melania, will lay a wreath on the grave during their time in the chapel.

President Trump has often spoke of his deep admiration for Queen Elizabeth II who hosted him on his first State Visit to the UK in 2019.

His second visit will be hosted at Windsor Castle by King Charles III and will see a major role for the Princess of Wales.

Kate, along with Prince William, will greet the US President and First Lady on the first day of the State Visit, meeting them in the grounds of Windsor Castle and accompanying them to the official welcome ceremony with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

That will take place as a Royal Salute is fired from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle and at the Tower of London.

Afterwards, King Charles and Queen Camilla will be joined by Donald and Melania Trump in a carriage procession through the grounds of the Windsor estate and into the Quadrangle. The Prince and Princess of Wales will also take part in that procession.

Later, William and Kate will join Their Majesties along with other members of the Royal Family for a lunch at the castle.

In the evening, the Royal Family will attend a State Banquet in honour of the US President and First Lady.

On the second day of the State Visit, the Princess of Wales will host Melania Trump in Frogmore Gardens where they will meet the Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields, and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels programme as they learn about nature to achieve their ‘Go Wild’ badge.

The First Lady will also see Queen Mary’s Dolls House during her stay at Windsor with Queen Camilla as her host for that part of the State Visit.

This is the first time an elected politician has been granted the honour of a second State Visit to the UK.
