Duchess of Kent

The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a statement following the death of The Duchess of Kent last night.

“Our thoughts today are with The Duke of Kent and his family, particularly George, Helen and Nicholas,” the royal couple writes.

“The Duchess worked tirelessly to help others and supported many causes, including through her love of music.

“She will be a much missed member of the family.”

The future king and queen signed off with “W & C”.

The Duchess of Kent, born Katharine Worsley, passed away on the evening of 4 September at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.

Further details on the Duchess’s funeral and period of mourning will be announced at a later time. An online book of condolences is expected to be launched shortly for people around the world to share their memories of the late royal.
