The US designer whose big blazers are the piece that every style conscious royal loves

Zara Tindall wears a deep red velvet blazer for the Together at Christmas service

Like us, queens and princesses everywhere have realised the power of a good blazer. The right piece will be versatile and make a statement. And as the Princess of Wales just showed, Veronica Beard has quietly become the go-to brand for blazers.

The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood released a new series of animated clips focusing on how to help nurture emotional and mental development in the first five years.

The Princess of Wales wore a Veronica Beard blazer in a rich forest green. The double-breasted blazer features button details and strong lapels. Catherine also chose a pair of coordinating Veronica Beard wide-legged trousers.

The Princess of Wales is not the only royal to reach for the American brand, though.

Zara Phillips has been known to wear one of the house’s blazers; she wore the Dickey Jacket in a light blue to Royal Ascot this year. She also wore the brand to the Together at Christmas celebration in 2024, choosing deep red velvet for that look.

In September 2020, Queen Mary of Denmark wore a Veronica Beard blazer to attend the Danish Championship in Dressage.

Both Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine of Sweden are also both fans of the brand.

Crown Princess Victoria has worn her cerulean blue blazer five times over the last year, including at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum.

Princess Madeleine is the reigning royal fan of Veronica Beard, though. She has worn several different pieces from the brand, including several blazers and sweaters.
