Armed with a shovel, the Princess Royal has been planting another tree for the Queen’s Green Canopy.
People throughout the United Kingdom are encouraged to plant a sustainable tree to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. For the second time in a week, the Princess Royal contributed to the Queen’s Green Canopy. This time Princess Anne dug in at St Barnabas Church of England Primary School in Worcester. After getting the Jubilee tree in the ground, Princess Anne spoke with the children and their teachers about the environment. The students of St. Barnabas are taught to explore nature and understand our place within it.
A few days ago, while on an official trip to Paris, Princess Anne planted a Jubilee Tree at the British embassy. It was the first Queen’s Green Canopy tree planted at a British embassy.
The Queen’s Green Canopy is designed to be a lasting legacy of Her Majesty’s reign with a focus on the environment. In addition to the planting of Jubilee Trees, the Queen’s Green Canopy will also put into protection 70 ancient woodlands and 70 ancient trees. All of this work is meant to not only be a tribute to the Queen’s 70 years on the throne but also is a gift to future generations.
