The Queen and Prince Philip leave Windsor Castle for the first time in months to attend Princess Beatrice’s secret wedding

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were among the guests present to witness the secret wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Beatrice and Edoardo married in secret on Friday morning at 11am at the Royal Chapel of All Saints, a church opposite to the residence of the Duke & Duchess of York.

This marked the first time that The Queen and Prince Philip have left Windsor Castle since lockdown in the UK began in March.

The Duke of York also attended the wedding.

Photographs will not be released of the ceremony until Saturday in an effort not to overshadow the investiture ceremony of Captain Sir Tom Moore.

A Buckingham Palace statement read: “The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints, at Royal Lodge, Windsor.”
