The Duchess of Cornwall had the important task of accompanying The Queen to church on Christmas Day in place of the Duke of Edinburgh.
Following his discharge from hospital on Christmas Eve after a four-night stay, Prince Philip was unable to accompany his wife to church on Wednesday.
Instead of travelling by car alone, the Duchess of Cornwall took the Duke’s place and travelled with Her Majesty.
The fact that it was Camilla who accompanied the Monarch shows the high regard Her Majesty has for her daughter-in-law.
In 2018, the Duke of Edinburgh was absent from the Christmas Day church service, however on this occasion it was the Duke of York who accompanied with The Queen.
Following on from Prince Andrew stepping down from public duties, it seems the proper thing that he did not accompany The Queen on this occasion.
Her Majesty was wearing a festive red coat and matching hat for the Christmas festivities.
The Duchess of Cornwall was dressed in a similarly cheery fashion, albeit in purple.
