Garden party brings out the royals

The last garden party of the season was held yesterday at Buckingham Palace. Royal Central mentioned this party when we discussed the 23 -member team who was available for the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Two of these team members, Prof. Teoh and Dr. Bray received an invitation and chatted with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It seemed nearly every royal made an appearance – the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and the Duke and Duchess of Kent. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are in The Republic of Ireland for three days of engagements, which Royal Central also covered.

Prince William hasn’t attended one of these garden parties since 2002. The Duchess of Cambridge, known for recycling outfits, did just that for this party when she wore the same Alexander McQueen look she had for her son’s christening in 2013. Whilst the Queen chose old favourites with Stewart Parvin and Rachel Trevor-Morgan.

June will be a busy month for the royal family, but certainly one of excitement for royal watchers around the world. Many are hoping to see the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attend the Royal Ascot which surprisingly after five years, they’ve yet to make an appearance; the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations will also take place along with the Trooping of the Colour and the infamous balcony appearance. Prince George stepped out last year, and many are hoping to see his little sister do the same next month. The last time the public got a glimpse of the precious princess was at her christening last July. Perhaps it will all be left to chance and the temperment of the little one on that day.
