If Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first joint engagement in Nottingham in any indication, 9 January will be another exciting day as the engaged couple will set out together again.
The two will be visiting Reprezent 107.3FM in Brixton where they will get a first-hand look at the work done to help out youth through training in broadcasting and radio.
They will also learn how the station uses “music, radio and media for social impact.”
First established in Peckham in 2008, the Reprezent training programme was set after a rise in knife crime and the need to help young people socialise.
To date, the programme has trained over 4,000 people, with another 3,000 on a waiting list for the chance to learn media and employment skills.
Some of the programmes include accredited training in radio and audio production and editing.
Other programmes include a newly launched regional mental health initiative in a series of schools.
While at the Reprezent FM studios at POP Brixton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will speak with presenters, producers and staff to better understand the training that they have in place.
Many of the youth who have undertaken the training in-return volunteer their time to the programme. Prince Harry and Meghan will also have the chance to meet with past and current volunteers to hear about their experiences.
Meghan Markle made her first public appearance as a soon-to-be member of the Royal Family in Nottingham on 1 December, only shortly after the news of her engagement to Prince Harry was announced. The day could not have been any more of a success and Meghan walked past the crowds, greeting those around her like she had been a royal for a long time.
Harry and Meghan were last seen in public together walking to church Christmas morning where Meghan broke with tradition and spent Christmas with the Royal Family before she has married into it.
