New photo of Archie Harrison released

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released a new photo of their son, Archie Harrison to mark Father’s Day.

The photo was posted to the Instagram account of Their Royal Highnesses and was, presumably, taken by the Duchess of Sussex.

It shows the baby grasping his father’s finger and being cuddled by his very proud dad.

The photo is the first time the public has seen a front photo of his face, as when he was shown to the media, only a side view of the baby’s face was visible.

With the image, the Duke and Duchess said, “Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to The Duke of Sussex.”

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on 6 May at Portland Hospital in London.

His birth was a private affair with the media not being told the location of the birth until after the fact. The new family of three had already returned home to Frogmore Cottage when the announcement of his birth was made and Prince Harry spoke to the media outside their home.

Archie was shown to the world a couple days later in Windsor Castle, safely snuggled in his father’s arms. Later that day, he met his great-grandmother, The Queen and great-grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh at Windsor Castle.

Details of his christening have not been officially announced by Buckingham Palace, but reports suggest he will be christened next month in St George’s Chapel – the location of his parents’ 19 May 2018 wedding. It is also the location of his father and uncle, the Duke of Cambridge’s christenings in the 1980s.

He will wear the Royal Family’s replica antique christening gown and will have water from the River Jordan used in the ceremony.

Godparents will be announced the morning of the ceremony.
