Prince William and Kate to meet London Poppy Appeal staff and volunteers

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have added a new engagement to their busy diary, as they balance parenthood and royal life.

Prince William and Kate will meet London Poppy Appeal staff and volunteers at Kensington Palace on November 7.

The new parents will spend time with the guests as they visit the palace after taking a tour of London on  a 1960’s Routemaster bus.

The royal couple will also join the Royal Family on Remembrance Sunday for the annual ceremony held at the Cenotaph on November 10.

Last year, Kate looked on as William joined senior royals to lay a wreath to remember those who had lost their life in war.

The Duchess, who stood with the Duchess of Cornwall, the Countess of Wessex and Princess Anne’s husband Sir Timothy Lawrence, wore a black Diane von Furstenberg coat for the ceremony, which she complimented with a stunning red poppy.

Prince William and Kate are expected to increase their royal workload over the next year, as they step up to support The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Earlier this year, William announced after seven years he would be leaving his military role to give more time to his royal duties.

The couple are expected to travel to Australia and New Zealand next year, taking Prince George along for the trip.

Prince George made his second appearance in public last week as he was christened in the Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace.

Proud parents William and Kate were joined by close family and friends at the 30-minute service, which was conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
