Princess Eugenie reveals who she has chosen to be her Maid of Honour

Princess Eugenie has revealed who she has chosen to be her Maid of Honour at her upcoming wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October, and the choice is rather unsurprising.

As expected, Eugenie has asked her sister, Princess Beatrice, to take on the role. The sisters share an extremely close bond, with Beatrice being on hand for the bride every step of the way.

Speaking to Vogue Magazine, Beatrice said: “Euge is amazing – she’s  a very modern bride.”

In the same interview, Beatrice admitted that the run-up to the wedding has been ‘nerve-wracking’, but added: “I’m not stressed at all.”

The 28-year-old said: “It’s nerve-racking because you want it to be perfect, but then you realize that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.”

Princess Eugenie, the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of York, will marry her fiance Jack Brooksbank in St George’s Chapel in October.

Located in the grounds of Windsor Castle, the chapel is the same venue where Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in May, and there will be some similarities between the occasions.

Last month, Buckingham Palace announced that Eugenie and Jack are inviting 1,200 people from across the United Kingdom to the grounds of Windsor Castle to share the experience of their special day.

A palace spokesperson said: “The attendees will view the arrival of the congregation and Members of the Royal Family, listen to a live broadcast of the Marriage Service and watch as the Bride and Groom depart St George’s Chapel at the end of the ceremony.”

Once the service has ended, the newly married couple will undertake a short carriage procession through part of Windsor High Street.

The carriage will process through the grounds of Windsor Castle, departing via Castle Hill to proceed along part of the High Street before returning to the Castle via Cambridge Gate.

Members of the public are invited to apply for the positions in the grounds of Windsor Castle at https://publicevents.royal.uk
