Harry and Cressida have been dating since May 2012 and the pair
have been spotted on many romantic dates around London.
Earlier this week a 31-year-old man was jailed for three years for
threatening to kill the Prince.
Ashraf Islam was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court after the judge
said he posed a danger to the public, although added his plan to
target the royal had been “vague and unlikely to succeed”.
In May 2013, Ashraf, who was born Mark David Townley and changed
his name in 2010 after converting to Islamd, entered a police
station in London saying he intended to kill the fourth-in-line the
following day.
He said he felt he had a “moral right to judge” the Prince, a
captain in the British Army because he did not agree with the
actions of the military. Ashraf’s defence lawyer told the court he
had a personality disorder.
A document was found on his computer that said: “Aim for target. No
civilians to be injured.
“Dress code is the biker look. Use low-calibre pistol at close
range. Not to be viewed as Islamist extremist.”
At Monday’s hearing, the judge Richard McGregor-Johnson said he had
considered a longer sentence, however it would have been deemed
“excessive”.
“I would have wished to consider an extended sentence,” he said.
“But the authorities are clear, even if a court finds that the
person does represent a danger to the public, that doesn’t justify
a longer sentence.”
