“On 6 June the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will attend events
in Normandy to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Normandy
landings,” a statement from Buckingham Palace explained.
After marking the D-Day landings the Queen and the Duke will travel
on to Paris where they will be received by Francois Hollande and
take part in state events to honour their visit.
“On 6 and 7 June Her Majesty and His Royal Highness will attend
state visit events in Paris and be received at the Elysee Palace by
President Hollande.”
The Queen first visited France in April 1957, and this year’s state
visit will be her first since April 2004.
In June 2004, the monarch also visited France for the 60th
anniversary of the Normandy Landings.
The scheduled visit shows Her Majesty has no signs of slowing down
this year as it’s also rumoured she is planning a second foreign
visit for later this year.

Keep us updated on the schedule! I’d love to see the Queen in Paris. Anyone know how early the Palace generally releases the Queen’s detailed schedule?
