Queen Camilla reveals problem shared with King Charles

Queen Camilla has been given a special first on a visit to York and opened up about a problem she’s facing with King Charles.

The Queen was at the Ebor Festival at York Racecourse when she shared an issue that’s been bothering the royals recently. And it involves a favourite hobby.

As Her Majesty toured York Racecourse she was presented with the first jar of honey made by its bees. And Queen Camilla said that she is seeing her own hive suffer this summer.

The Queen attended Ladies Day at Ebor Festival on August 20. The festival is held at York Racecourses; in 2024, Her Majesty was announced as the racecourse’s new Patron.

She presented jockey Ryan Moore with the winner’s trophy after his victory and chatted with him and several racegoers.

Queen Camilla also met with the Vice Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Chris Legard, as well as the Chief Executive of York Racecourse, Mr William Derby.

She also took time to speak with local entrepreneurs on her visit.

Selina and Harry Silk, the owners of Knavesmire Nectar, met Queen Camilla and presented her with a jar of honey from their bees that are kept at the racecourse.

It was then that Queen Camilla shared that she keeps hives of bees at her home in Wiltshire, Ray Mill House. The honey is sold at Fortnum and Mason.

However, The Queen’s bees have been having a rough go of it this summer. Both the bees at her home and The King’s bees at Sandringham are dealing with serious issues of wasp infestations.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are not the only royal beekeepers; the Princess of Wales has also shared that she keeps her own hives, as well.
