Speaking from their house on the Gatcombe Park Estate, the
Gloucestershire home of Princess Anne, the couple reveal they are
still amazed at their first child, who is the Queen’s fourth
great-grandchild.
“I still keep looking at Mia and thinking, ‘Oh! We made that!'”
Zara says, while rugby player Mike adds: “The baby is a great
feeling and it just goes on…”
Mia Grace, who takes her place at 16th in line for the throne, was
born at the Royal Gloucestershire Hospital weighing 7Ibs 12oz. The
newest addition to the family comes six months after the birth of
Prince George, although unlike the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s
first child, Mia will carry no royal title.
Mike also explained that the couple informed the Royal Family
immediately after the birth and Zara phoned her grandmother The
Queen upon returning home.
“As soon as we had Mia I sent a text to all the family,” he says.
“Zara is very close to her grandmother, so of course she made a
phone call once we got back home.”
As reported previously, the couple say they didn’t know if they
were expecting a baby boy or girl. “No we wanted to keep the
surprise,” Zara tells the magazine.
A representative for The Queen explained there would be no comment
on whether Her Majesty was consulted about the interview.
“Zara looks after all her own publicity. We wouldn’t comment on
whether the Queen was informed.”

week’s Hello! magazine and is available now.
