The Princess of Wales celebrates Mother Nature on Mother’s Day

After the fiasco of last year’s Mothering Sunday photo, the Princess of Wales released a short video promoting the natural world and its healing benefits.

In a short video shared on the Kensington Palace social media accounts, Catherine shared a personal message, writing: “Over the past year, nature has been our sanctuary. This Mother’s Day, let us celebrate Mother Nature and recognise how our bond with the natural world can help not only nurture our inner selves, but remind us too of the role we play within the rich tapestry of life.”

The video featured a montage of nature shots coupled with a quick shot of her hands reaching out touching a tree.

Catherine has not made it a secret of how being outdoors has helped her and her family through her cancer journey.

In September she released a video shot entirely outdoors to reflect on finishing her chemotherapy treatments, telling us how “this time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted.”

On World Cancer Day in February, weeks after sharing that she was in remission, Catherine released a photograph of herself on a winter walk in Windsor—taken by Prince Louis—with the caption: “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease.”
