The King and Queen will make a State Visit to the United States of America.
King Charles and Queen Camilla have accepted an invitation from US President, Donald Trump, who is expected to host his royal visitors at the White House.
Full details of the Visit and the exact dates will be announced shortly but the King and Queen will undertake the trip in April.
It will be the first State Visit of the reign of King Charles III to the US.

The last State Visit by a British Monarch to the US was almost 20 years ago. Queen Elizabeth II made a State Visit to Washington in 2007 when she was hosted by President George W Bush.
The late Queen made a total of four State Visits to the US with her other trips coming in 1957, 1991 and in 1976 when Her Late Majesty’s time there co-incided with the 200th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
The State Visit by King Charles and Queen Camilla comes as the US marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence.
In September 2025,, US President Donald Trump made a high profile State Visit to the UK where he stayed at Windsor Castle as a guest of The King. It was an historic visit as it was the first time an elected politician had paid two State Visits to the UK. Donald Trump’s first State Visit was held in the reign of Queen Elizabeth II and the second was made possible as he had a break of four years between his two terms in office.

Following the State Visit to the US, Queen Camilla will return to the UK. King Charles will head to Bermuda for a Royal Visit.
It will be the first time a reigning King has visited Bermuda. The last visit by a British Monarch was in 2009 when Queen Elizabeth II was on the island.
This is the first outgoing State Visit of 2026. In March, King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the President of Nigeria on an incoming State Visit.
As well as this high profile trip, designed to cement ties between the UK and the US, there is continued speculation that the Prince and Princess of Wales will visit the US in the summer.
