The Duchess of Edinburgh with a bridal touch at Royal Ascot on her wedding anniversary

The Duchess of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal arrive at Royal Ascot on Ladies Day. Both chose veiled hats for the glamourous occasion with Sophie in bridal white and Anne in jade green. Their jewels also took a star role with Anne wearing a gift from her late grandmother, the Queen Mother.
The Duchess of Edinburgh made a nod to bridal fashion as she marked her wedding anniversary with a day out at Royal Ascot.

Sophie was at Ascot for Ladies Day which fell on June 19, the 26th anniversary of her marriage to Prince Edward. The couple said ‘I do’ at St. George’s Windsor on June 19 1999.

Over a quarter of a century later, the Duchess arrived at Ascot in a striking hat which was topped with flowers and featured a white veil.

It was a bridal touch to Sophie’s summery Ascot outfit. The hat was worn with a white tea dress covered in a deep green floral print.

Edward and Sophie rode in the second carriage of the Royal Procession on June 19 – which is their 26th wedding anniversary. They were joined by the Princess Royal and Sir Tim Laurence.

The King and Queen rode in the lead carriage accompanied by the Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury.

Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, were in the third carriage with Princess Zahra Aga Khan and William Haggas.

The fourth carriage was occupied by Zara and Mike Tindall and William and Alison Parente.

While many of the Royal party chose floral dresses and veiled hats, Zara Tindall went for a striking monochrome look with striped boater style hat.

The Queen kept to her theme of the week. Queen Camilla wore another shade of green for Ladies Day, this time a soft sage shade in comparison to her bright emerald outfit of the day before.
