Princess Anne recovering slowly but surely says Sir Tim

Sir Tim Laurence has shared another update on The Princess Royal’s health after she suffered a concussion earlier this week.

Laurence shared that Princess Anne is “doing fine, slow but sure” and that “she’ll be out when she’s ready” when asked if she would be leaving hospital soon. He has visited her in hospital and brought some comforts from home to help with The Princess’s recovery.

The Princess Royal is at Southmead Hospital in Bristol after having an accident on her estate, Gatcombe Park. Buckingham Palace shared that she suffered minor injuries and a concussion and would be recovering in hospital. It is thought that she may have been struck by a horse with medics saying her injuries are consistent with the impact from the head or legs of a horse.

On Tuesday, The Princess Royal’s daughter, Zara Tindall, visited her mother in the hospital.

Princess Anne was originally meant to be taking part in the Japanese State Visit this week, but The King has sent his wishes for her quick recovery.

Sir Tim had shared his thanks earlier this week for the quality of care that The Princess has received. He said: ”She is recovering well, thank you. We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care – and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene. We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal.”
