The King and Queen will welcome the President of Germany to the UK for a State Visit at the start of December.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will host President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Bundenbeder, at Windsor Castle just weeks before Christmas.
The trip follows the successful State Visit that Their Majesties made to Germany in 2023, the first outgoing State Visit of the reign of King Charles III.

This will be the third State Visit that King Charles and Queen Camilla will host in 2025 – usually, there are two incoming State Visits every year.
In July, the Royal Family welcomed President Emmanual Macron of France and his wife, Brigitte, to Windsor for a State Visit while in September, the eyes of the world turned on the castle as US President, Donald Trump, and US First Lady, Melania Trump, made an historic second State Visit to the UK.
It’s expected that the Prince and Princess of Wales will play leading roles in the German State Visit, as they did when the French and US Presidents paid their trips.
Windsor has become the home of State Visits this year after many of Buckingham Palace’s official rooms were closed because of ongoing refurbishment work.

State Visits are designed to cement links between the two countries involved and include a number of events linked to areas important to both countries.
However, the stand out moments are always the pomp and ceremony around big events like the State Banquet and the official welcome ceremony.
The German State Visit takes place between December 3 and December 5 2025.
