William and Kate now in Balmoral with the Royal Family

The Prince and Princess of Wales have started their summer break at Balmoral.

William and Kate were seen driving to church at nearby Crathie on Sunday morning with their three children.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis looked like they were having fun on the short trip from Balmoral to the church where they joined other members of the family for Sunday service.

King Charles took up official residence at Balmoral several days ago with a traditional welcome ceremony.

His Majesty attended the service alongside Queen Camilla.

The Monarch was greeted with a ceremonial display by the Balaklava Company who lined the route into the church.

It was a family gathering as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Edward and Sophie, joined the service, too.

Also spotted on their way to church were the Princess Royal and her husband, Sir Tim Laurence.

The Royal Family traditionally spend the last part of their summer holidays at Balmoral with The King expected to stay in residence there until at least September 8, the anniversary of his accession.

It was at Balmoral that Queen Elizabeth II died in 2022.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will return to Windsor soon after the anniversary this year as they are set to host US President, Donald Trump, on a State Visit at the castle on September 17.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to join them for that historic event, the first time an elected politician has been given the honour of a second State Visit.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will miss the State Visit – they will be in Japan on another important diplomatic trip at the same time.
