
The
Duchess of Cornwall will attend The London International Horse
Show,
Olympia, London on 19 December.
On Thursday The Duchess of Cornwall will be attend The London International Horse Show at Olympia. The show opened on Monday 16 December and will run until Sunday 21 December. The Duchess, a keen lover of horses and riding, has been Patron of the British Equestrian Federation since 2006. This will be the eighth year that Her Royal Highness has been in attendance.
Lord Vestey, President of Olympia, The London International
Horse Show, and Simon Brooks-Ward, Event Director will meet with
Camilla before joining the President’s Box where she will take the
Royal Salute.
Whist in the President’s Box, Camilla and guests will view The
Kingsland Christmas Speed Stakes before being asked into the Arena
to grant the Awards to the winner. The presentation of the Raymond
Brooks-Ward Memorial Trophy to Louise Saywell will then be
awarded.
The Duchess will then watch The Alltech Puissance from the
President’s Box before returning to the Arena to present the awards
accompanied by Mr and Mrs Patrick Charlton, Director of
Alltech.
Later, she will meet some of the riders backstage from The Royal
Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, The Shetland Pony Grand
National and the Christmas Finale. She will then go into the arena
where she will view the Puissance wall.
Over 85,000 people attend Olympia, The London International
Horse Show throughout the week.
“The show mixes top class equestrian action including FEI World
Cup™ Jumping and Dressage with family entertainment including the
Osborne Refrigerators Shetland Pony Grand National which raises
money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Since its conception it has
raised over £500,000 for the charity,” according to Clarence
House.
Camilla is known for her keen and passionate interest in horses. She is an avid rider in her spare time and frequently attends racing and other equestrian events.
