When two of the most famous royal fashion leaders both pick the same autumn trend on the same day for the same important events then you know it’s time to sit up and take notice. Enter Queen Letizia and the Princess of Wales.
Kate and Letizia are both known for their fashion savvy and what they wear usually ends up being copied by plenty. On a day when both of them were involved in high level State Visits, there was only one choice for these two style setters. They both went for lace.
First out of the blocks with a dress that is absolutely one of the best things she’s worn all year and there’s still competition for that crown was Queen Letizia.

She and King Felipe were on the first full day of their State Visit to Egypt and for the formal welcome ceremonies and opening engagements, Queen Letizia chose a pure white dress that ticked all the right boxes.
This was modest and stunning all at the same time. A box neckline and full length sleeves was capped by a tight belted waist and full length, full bodied skirt. It looked stunning and it was made of a must have for this autumn, lace.

Letizia being Letizia, she added her own twist to it and chose a form of lace called guipure which is traditionally made with a thicker thread to outline the pattern.
Her version came from The 2nd Skin Co. and while it features on their website, if you want to look like Letizia, you need to email them direct to find out more about this dress.

Just hours later, Kate turned to lace for one of her own all time stand out looks. The Princess of Wales chose a pale gold gown for the State Banquet held at Windsor Castle in honour of US President Donald Trump and it was covered in the now must have autumn trend, lace.
Kate’s evening dress was by Phillipa Lepley and featured a silk crepe dress covered by a coat dress made of gold Chantilly lace. The coat dress has a high collar, full length sleeves and pools into a mini train at the back as we all saw when the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a behind the scenes video of them holding hands.

In fact, both Kate and Letizia’s dresses had a bridal air about them but above all, they were all about lace. It’s already a big trend for autumn/ winter 2025 and the backing of two very famous royal fashionistas will only bolster that.
