King Felipe of Spain travelled to Wimbledon to cheer on Carlos Alcarez in the Men’s Singles Final and gave us a behind the scenes glimpse of life in the royal box.
The Spanish king caught up with the Prince and Princess of Wales who were also there. Kate is the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and presents the trophies.

The Prince and Princess of Wales brought two of their children along, too. Prince George, who is about to turn 12, and Princess Charlotte, 10, were also in the royal box for the much anticipated final which saw defending champion, Alcarez, take on Italy’s Jannik Sinner.
It was a rerun of 2023 when William, Kate, George and Charlotte met up with King Felipe ahead of that year’s Men’s Singles final which saw Carlos Alcarez win the Wimbledon final for the first time.
Prince William and Prince George also chatted with Spain’s king at last year’s Euros final in which England took on Spain and lost.
William and Felipe have known each other for many years. The Prince of Wales spent several childhood holidays at Marivent in Mallorca, the summer home of Spain’s royals, where he was hosted along with his own parents, Charles and Diana, and his younger brother, Harry, by Felipe’s parents, Juan Carlos and Sofia.
The friendship between the two was on clear display in the behind the scenes snap shared on the official social media of Spain’s royals. Felipe VI was seen laughing as he chatted with William, Kate, George and Charlotte.
