Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway has started a new chapter in her life as she has officially landed in Australia to begin her degree at the University of Sydney.

The Norwegian Royal Family shared four new photos of the 21 year old princess ahead of her course at the University of Sydney. The new pictures show her across her new campus.

Like many university students, the princess embraced the casual look, choosing a navy jumper, a wide-legged pair of light jeans, and white New Balance trainers.

Ingrid Alexandra shared her excitement for her new chapter, explaining:  “I’m looking forward to starting my studies at the University of Sydney. It will be exciting to become a student, and I’m looking forward to gaining new perspectives on both European and international politics. I’m sure that I will learn a lot”.

The second-in-line to the Norwegian throne will be studying political economy and international relations for her Bachelor of Arts degree. She is following in her father’s footsteps by choosing a university abroad; Crown Prince Haakon studied at both the University of California, Berkeley, and the London School of Economics.

The 21 year old has had a busy 18 months; in January 2024 she began her mandatory military service after being selected. She chose to extend her twelve month training to fifteen and finished in April 2025.

She’s also carried out a range of royal public engagements and recently took part in events around a State Visit.
