Crown Princess Mary has been participating in events for Copenhagen Fashion Week this week.
On 30 January, Crown Princess Mary attended the Designers’ Nest Fashion Show at the Hotel d’Angleterre, where fashion students showcased their work. In total, 27 designers presented their work to the audience.
Crown Princess Mary had a front row seat for the fashion show and wore an outfit by Jesper Høvring, a Danish designer who presented during Copenhagen Fashion Week, and one of her go-to designers.
Afterwards, she presented the Designers’ Nest Award to Axel Enquist, a design graduate from Norway who studied at the Oslo National Academy of Arts.

“Enqvist has a way of creating items that are functional yet never boring,” says the press release on the Copenhagen Fashion Week website.
“His choice of materials complement the functional designs, with eye-catching cuts and a palette consisting of browns, beiges, blacks, and greens, all thoroughly considered.”
The press release continues, applauding the designers, as their talents “represent innovation and letting loose. And, perhaps most of all, having fun.”
The Designers’ Nest Award was first presented in 2005 to honour the work of Nordic design graduates, created by Revolver, a Danish tradeshow company that works with Copenhagen Fashion Week each year.
“Designers’ Nest aims to expose and promote up-and-coming Scandinavian designers to global buyers, designers, media and trendsetters who visit the biannual fashion fair, thus consolidating and expanding Denmark as a fashion nation,” per Revolver’s website.
The prize is 50,000 Danish Krones, and Crown Princess Mary has presented the award in the past, in her role as Patron of Copenhagen Fashion Week. The jury is “a mix of Danish and International prominent figures from the fashion industry.”
Crown Princess Mary has been a champion of Danish fashion and the Danish fashion industry since her wedding. She is the patron of the Copenhagen Fashion Summit.
