The Princess of Wales drops out of attending Royal Ascot

The Princess of Wales has had to pull out of attending Royal Ascot.

Catherine was set to attend day two of the meeting with Prince William and the original carriage procession announcement, released at noon, included her attendance.

However, an hour later it was confirmed that the Princess would no longer be attending when a new carriage list was revealed.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Her Royal Highness is understood to be disappointed not to be able to be there. However, she has said since resuming engagements after treatment for cancer that her health would be her priority.

The Princess of Wales attended the Order of the Garter service in Windsor on June 16 and seemed in good spirits.

The Prince of Wales is still attending day two and will present the trophy named in his honour during his afternoon at the prestigious racing event with The King and Queen.
