William and Kate met the US leader and First Lady inside the Windsor estate. Donald and Melania Trump had flown in by Marine One from Winfield House in London, where they had spent the night after arriving at Stansted late last night.

The couple were at the bottom of the helicopter steps to greet the US President with Donald Trump and Prince William shaking hands before Melania and Kate greeted one another.

The Prince and Princess of Wales walked from to with the Trumps the short distance to the little know Victoria House inside Windsor where the US President was then officially welcomed to the UK by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Soon afterwards, the carriage procession began with President Trump being given the honour of riding in the Irish State Coach, usually only used by the Monarch.
