Buckingham Palace sends royal watchers into a tailspin with a ‘fun fact’ that appeared to give Princess Anne a whole new family

Princess Anne in a red cost

Buckingham Palace has hit the delete button fast after it appeared to give Princess Anne a whole new family.

With just days to go until the Princess Royal turns 75, the Royal Family has begun the celebrations by sharing some ‘things you might not know’ about the King’s sister.

Among them are the usual kind of fact – she was a Brownie, she was born in London – followed by a total showstopper.

For in the middle of the list, the royals asked whether anyone knew that Princess Anne is a stepmother to two children from her second husband’s first marriage. And the answer was a resounding ‘no’.

Since Princess Anne married Tim Laurence in 1992, there has never been any word of her husband having had a family prior to his relationship with the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II.

However, in its ‘fun facts’, Buckingham Palace published that Anne was in fact stepmother to two previously never heard of people, Tom and Amy Laurence.

The fact, perhaps not quite so much fun inside Palace walls right now, was soon removed.

All kinds of theories are now springing up including that the royals had used AI which had acquired stepchildren for Princess Anne despite them not existing.

Buckingham Palace has made no comment.
