Princess Marie Caroline of Liechtenstein is keeping everyone guessing over the origins of her very on trend wedding dress.
The bride, who married Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer in Vaduz on August 30 2025, chose a beautiful tulle gown covered in embroidery for her big day. However, almost 24 hours after she said ‘I do’, there is still no official word on who designed the dress.
Marie Caroline studied couture and design herself and has carved out a career in fashion so there were high expectations around this latest royal wedding look.

The princess didn’t disappoint with a gown that had echoes of the 1980s about it and which didn’t follow usual royal wedding patterns.
This wedding dress was worked in tulle with sheer elements to the sleeves which used the fabric to create a gentle puff effect. The skirt was layered in tulle creating a voluminous effect while the material allowed the intricate embroidered details across the gown to be seen to full effect.

The dress pooled into a small court train while the bride also wore a spectacular, long cathedral veil edged with more embroidery and covered in tiny embellished dots.
It was held in place by one of the most striking of all royal tiaras. The Hapsburg Fringe belongs to Liechtenstein’s royal family and features an all diamond kokoshnik style design. This was fashionable among royalty in the late 19th century which is when this diadem was created. It was made in 1890 for Archduchess Maria Theresa of Austria-Teschen and has been a popular bridal choice for Marie-Caroline’s family in recent years.

The bride carried an all white bouquet of flowers and she went large for this part of her look, choosing a sizeable ‘S’ shaped structured posy. The wedding flowers in the church included white and blue with the couple walking out into the late summer sun through an arch of hydrangeas in azure and cream.
Marie Caroline’s bridal party were dressed in white and green with her three bridesmaids in classical dresses with sashes and her page boy in knee length trousers and smart shirt.

The mother of the bride complemented the pretty colours on show by wearing a pale pink dress covered in white, green and blue embellishments. Princess Sophie’s hat was in deep fuchsia pink with a nest of flowers under one edge.
The wedding ceremony at St. Florin’s Cathedral was followed by a reception at Vaduz Castle.
