Princess Amalia leads the way with super stylish appearance as Dutch royals head to the Hall of Knights

The Dutch royal family, including the three princesses, wave from the balcony after the Throne speech

Princess Catharina Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane of the Netherlands joined their parents for Prinsjesdag. Each of the princesses made her own sartorial statement with strong looks all around with one major common element.

As Princess of Orange and heir to the Dutch throne, Princess Amalia has slowly been establishing her own personal sense of style over the last few years. As her mother, Queen Maxima, is known to be a bold dresser, Amalia has big shoes to fill.

With her golden Mounia dress from Taller Marmo,  Amalia has cemented the cape dress as her go-to style for formal events. The one shoulder, floor-length cape features a fringe detail that elevates the look. She also paired it with a large, saucer-style hat for her day-time look.

Princess Alexia took a page out of her sister’s style book, and also wore a one-shouldered cape. Her plum, asymmetrical floor-length gown from Solace London was paired with burgundy gloves for an autumnal ensemble.

Princess Ariane is going to be attending more royal engagements, as she has now graduated from secondary school. This is her first appearance for Prinsjesdag, a major day on the Dutch royal calendar.

She turned to royal favourite Victoria Beckham for her look. Her navy, satin gown features ruching at the stomach and a very short cape. She also wore a short pair of coordinating gloves, as well as a navy cocktail hat.

Although the three sisters are very different from each other and have decidedly different paths in life, it is interesting that their wardrobes often reflect a sense of unity when they appear publicly together.

It is also great to see the young princesses taking risks with their style- there is no better time for them to take risks!
