Flag day for young princess on a weekend of celebration

Princess Ariane of the Netherlands raises the Dutch flag at her royal home to celebrate getting her baccaulareate.

Princess Ariane of the Netherlands is marking a major accomplishment and left her mark on her royal home to celebrate.

The youngest daughter of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima received her International Baccalaureate diploma on 6 July. 

While she began her secondary schooling at a Dutch school, in the Summer of 2023 she moved to Italy to attend the UWC Adriatic. Her older sister, Princess Alexia, attended UWC in Wales, as did their father. 

As the princess received her diploma, the Dutch Royal Family shared a video on social media of her happily raising the flag at Huis ten Bosch palace to celebrate her success. 

It has been a busy time for the eighteen year old. She also joined Queen Maxima for a UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournament match. 

The 2025 tournament is being held in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July at eight different stadiums. The Netherlands is in Group D with France, England, and Wales.

The mother/ daughter duo were in Lucerne and were able to catch the Dutch squad face off against Wales. They were officially good luck for the national squad, as the Netherlands took the match 3-0. 

Maxima and Ariane were able to chat with the team after and to help celebrate their victory.
