An event at the heart of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations is looking for volunteers.
The Royal Windsor Horse Show is looking for volunteers. While the posting does not list all the duties, the website does state volunteers will have a chance to make the Horse Show happen. Including being placed at a number of positions across the Showground like horse-crossing points, greeting the public, and stewarding the Endurance competition amongst many more.
The Platinum Jubilee celebration is hosted by Royal Windsor Horse Show. Taking place on the same grounds the horse show uses during the day, visitors to the celebration may enter the grounds from 3pm on. From there, visitors will be able to enjoy an afternoon at the show before taking their seats in the Castle Arena to watch the celebration.
The show takes place over only four nights with just under 4000 tickets available each night. ‘Gallop Through History’ takes the form of a gala evening and is set to feature 500 horses and 1000 performers including riders and military. The 90-minute production will take the audience on a gallop through history from the days of Elizabeth I to the present day and the record breaking reign of Elizabeth II. It is staged in the same arena as The Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012, and The Queen’s 90th birthday celebration in 2016.
All Windsor volunteers will receive Royal Windsor Horse Show clothing and will be provided meal vouchers for the duration of their shifts. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. If you are interested in volunteering, you can click here.
The Royal Windsor Horse Show runs 12-15 May on the private grounds of Windsor Castle. Her Majesty has attended the show every year since 1943. It is unknown at this point if and which other members of the royal family will be in attendance.
