Buckingham Palace has unveiled a bumper programme of celebrations to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee In 2022 where she will mark 70 years on the throne.
Her Majesty will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, having succeeded her father as monarch on 6th February 1952 when Her Majesty was only 25 years old.
Since then, she has gone on to break many royal records. The celebrations for her 70 year reign will take in many traditions but the third day of the spectacular party will include a very special treat for the horse loving Monarch.
Saturday 4th June
The Derby at Epsom Downs: The Queen and The Royal Family will attend the Derby at Epsom Downs. Horse Racing is The Queen’s biggest passion, so it is not a surprise that the sport will form an integral part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Platinum Party at the Palace: The BBC will stage and broadcast a live concert from Buckingham Palace.
The biggest names in world entertainment will gather at Buckingham Palace to celebrate The Queen’s seven decades on the throne.
Members of the public will be able to apply to attend the event, with details to be announced in due course.
