The Prince of Wales has visited some of the victims who were injured in Wednesday’s terror attack in hospital.
The heir to the throne travelled to King’s College Hospital in London on Friday where he met those who were injured, as well as the medics who treated them.
King’s College Hospital is one of several hospitals in London to treat those injured in the Westminster attack.
More than 50 people were injured during the incident, with over 30 being admitted to hospital.
Eight of those victims are being treated at King’s College Hospital, where Prince Charles has visited – one later died after succumbing to his injuries.
75-year-old Leslie Rhodes from South London was named on Friday morning as the fourth fatality. He was struck by the terrorist’s car when it ran over pedestrians on Westminster Bridge.
After ramming into pedestrians, the 52-year-old terrorist stabbed a police officer, 48-year-old PC Keith Palmer, who later died.
Aysha Frade, a college tutor, and Kurt Cochran, an American tourist who was celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary also lost their lives.
Prime Minister Theresa May chaired an emergency COBRA meeting, where afterwards she condemned the “sick and depraved terrorist attack.”
Speaking outside of Number 10, Mrs May said: “Let me make it clear today… any attempt to defeat those values through violence is doomed to failure.
“Parliament will come together as normal and Londoners will get up and go about their day as normal… they will walk these streets, they will live their lives never giving into terror and never allowing the voices of hate and evil to drive us apart.”
The British medics have done a fantastic job during this incredibly difficult time. Well done. If the photograph shown of Prince Charles is actually from the visit, it is a very good study of him. He looks genuinely concerned. My thoughts are with those that have been personally affected by this horrific event.

PM May was where she was supposed to be doing exactly what she was supposed to be doing.
The medics at King’s College and such other facilities as may have received these poor victims were where they were supposed to be doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing and, as always, doing it very, very well.
The victims of this savage barbarian’s attack were not where they were supposed to be and were not doing exactly what they were supposed to be doing. They should have been continuing on with their lives as before the attack unmolested by this cruel savagery that has invaded this great city.
The mayor of London is terribly wrong. No one anywhere should get used to this ever.
Have you ever stopped and questioned why these people do what they do? I would never condone their actions but nor can I condone my government when it chooses to invade the middle East at the behest of corporate interests. This so called war on terror is nothing more than a corporate land grab and we are the ones who suffer. Not the royals and not the monied elite. It’s not their children dying, it’s ours. Are you able to name one corporation that has grabbed land and what land they have grabbed? Can you name any land not already theirs grabbed by any coalition partner and currently in their possession or control?
Halliburton and British petroleum are two that immediately spring to mind. 9/11 was carried out by Saudis but we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan. The war on terror is about oil, nothing more. There is documented proof that special forces were on the ground securing the pipelines before the declaration was even announced. We live in a corporateocracy, our politicians are bought and paid for and only a tiny amount of research is necessary to reveal this. Hell, they don’t try and hide it.
Really and with respect, such liberal rote. I carry no brief for politicians of any stripe. I am independent with no party affiliation whatsoever. But this is simply talking points. I know nothing of the role of BP. I do know Haliburton won several no-bid contracts in Iraq. It was due to their singular ability to deal with engineering situations with immediacy. That VP Cheney had been Haliburton CEO certainly added a stink to the whole situation. He was – and is – a contemptible slug and a coward. But in fact there simply was no other company equipped with the manpower, tools and expertise to deal with the emergent situations.
Special Forces attempted with little success to secure certain extremely sensitive areas of the Iraqi pipelines just previous to “announcement” of the incursion which all the world knew was afoot. News organizations were reporting “shock and awe” in Baghdad before any announcement ensued.
The reasons for the UN coalition incursion into Iraq are well-known and quite lengthy. Afghanistan was invaded because the mastermind of 9-11 was hiding there and the Taliban refused to give him up. No one benefited from any oil anywhere as result of the war on terror. No one. Period. In fact, oil was lost as result of the entire engagement.
I respect what you say. It’s your belief and your right to express it. I hold politicians in the same contempt you do. But oil was never the reason for the war on terror. It wasn’t needed. It’s true we should never have invaded Iraq though I readily admit to being late to that view. Afghanistan was another matter entirely. But our error is nation building. The West ought not be in the business of creating hostile Middle Eastern governments that terrorize Muslims as well as everyone else on the planet.
