The Duke of Cambridge brings Prince George to meet his sister

The Duke of Cambridge has brought Prince George to the Lindo Wing to meet his baby sister for the first time. Little George was carried into the hospital by his dad and gave a confident wave to the cheering crowds on his arrival. Proud dad William kissed his son on the forehead before they went inside for George to meet his sister.

The Duke of Cambridge had left the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington just before 4pm, almost eight hours after the birth of his daughter. The Duke emerged to huge cheers.

As he walked to his waiting car, William was asked how he felt and the response was simple but said it all. ‘Very happy’, said The Duke of Cambridge before getting into his car and driving himself away.  William arrived at his London home just minutes later to collect Prince George and the royal father and son were back at the Lindo Wing by 4.15pm.

The Duke of Cambridge had arrived at the Lindo Wing with his wife at 6am this morning after The Duchess of Cambridge went into labour. The news was announced on Twitter just after 6.45am and the new princess was born at 08:34am. She weighed 8lbs and 3oz and mother and daughter are both doing well.

The traditional announcement of the birth was made just after 12:30pm – placed on an easel at Buckingham Palace. The first news of the little girl’s arrival was made on Twitter and by press release just after 11am.

The new baby is fourth in line to the throne.
