The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are mid way through their visit to Ireland and after a string of engagements in Dublin yesterday, they head out of the capital as day two takes shape. Royal Central takes a look at what’s in store for William and Kate. Here’s the day two diary of this royal visit to Ireland.
Putting the Pieces Together
The royal couple start the second leg of their visit in Dublin where they will visit Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health in Ireland to hear about its work and meet some of those supported by it. They’ll also talk to teachers, parents, coaches and community campaigners about Jigsaw’s work.
Out of Dublin
From there, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge head to County Kildare, to the west of Dublin where they will visit Savannah House. It’s run by social justice charity, Extern, which works in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Savannah House is one of their residential facilities where the organisation offers support to vulnerable young people and their families with the aim of changing lives and giving them key life skills. William and Kate are expected to join in a number of activities set up to support young people and hear about Extern’s key philosophy of offering another chance through change.
Life on the Farm
The afternoon of day two will take the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Teagasc Research Farm in County Meath. They will hear about research going on there to promote sustainable farming and they’ll get the chance to meet some of the women and men putting the ideas into practice. They will also join a group of primary school children on a visit to the farm and join one of their activities where the youngsters will learn about the environment and food production.
Evening Calls
William and Kate are set to attend a reception in Dublin on their second evening, this time hosted by the acting Tanaiste, Simon Coveney.
