Prince & Princess of Wales

India terror alert issued ahead of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit

Just days before The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrive in India for their royal tour, there has already been a terror alert issued for the area.

The Duke and Duchess will be representing the government for seven days in India and Bhutan. According to ABC News, the Duke and Duchess will be greeted by a reception welcoming them to India in Mumbai. They will also visit the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel, where only eight years earlier Islamic militants killed more than one hundred sixty people. They are even reportedly supposed to be staying a night at the hotel, in order to demonstrate their solidarity with the victims. However, they won’t be the first to stay at the Tower Hotel. In the years past, the hotel has hosted guest such as The Prince of Wales and even President Barack Obama.

The Indian police are now on the hunt for three Pakistani terrorist armed with explosives and even a “suicide belt”. They are worried that the armed group are planning to launch attacks on Delhi, Goa, and Mumbai. This is happening just weeks after the deadly attacks in Belgium, carried out by the terrorist group ISIS, which left thirty-two people dead and over three hundred injured.

The issued alert calls on police to strictly check public and crowded places. The alert reads, “You are directed to take all the necessary steps in this regard and specifically focus on strict checking of vehicles, security of all vital installation including police buildings and defense establishments, religious places, crowded places such as market areas, malls, railway stations, railway tracks, and educational institutions.”

There has yet to be any word from Kensington Palace concerning the continuation of the Duke and Duchess’s visit.
